Area city center

We are located in the heart of the alleys and squares of the city center, where ancient churches and sumptuous palaces compete in their beauty. The shop windows display typical products of the tradition: the enchanting Asti Spumante, the prestigious Barbera wine, tasty cured meats, delicious cheeses, hazelnut sweets, and many other irresistible specialties. Walking in the shade of the imposing towers, you can reach the Collegiate Church of San Secondo, the majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria, the largest in Piedmont, the Mazzetti Palace, a noble residence and home to the Civic Art Gallery. A short distance away is also the Alfieri Palace, the birthplace of the 18th-century writer Vittorio Alfieri, as well as the Crypt and the Museum of Sant'Anastasio, a fascinating Romanesque site, the Trojan Tower, the tallest in the city (44 meters), and the Roman House, a gem of local archaeology. Via Aliberti, also known as "the street of the basket makers" for the numerous shops of artisans who built and sold wicker baskets, was the main street of the Jewish ghetto of Asti. Even today it retains its original appearance, with its low and narrow palaces, arcades, and artisan shops.
